We arrive in San Jose on May 9, 2026 and we have free shuttle service to the Adventure Inn in San Jose. If you've already arrived and are up for an afternoon activity in San Jose we can decide then. We can also meet up for dinner. I didn't include dinner in the packet because there might be late arrivals and maybe people aren't hungry after flying etc. The retreat starts at the hotel. Breakfast is included and then we're off!

Travel to Sierpe.
Enroute to Sierpe well take a small detour to see some of the iconic spheres of the pre-Columbian era.
Sierpe is a small town at the mouth of the Sierpe river and it's the gateway to the Osa Peninsula. We will have a lunch at Donde Jorge. After lunch we'll take a boat tour of the mangroves - an important ecosystem in Central America and from there head down the river to the Pacific Ocean
Getting to Ocean Forest EcoLodge is an adventure right from the start.
The journey to the EcoLodge is truly part of the experience! After an unforgettable mangrove tour and a boat ride down the river and along the coast, we’ll roll up our pants and step straight from the boat into the gentle Pacific Ocean—this truly sets the tone for our adventure ahead!
From there, we enjoy a scenic 15-minute walk along the pristine sands of San Josecito Beach, surrounded by nature and the sounds of the ocean.
When we arrive, we’ll be greeted by the welcoming staff and treated to refreshing coconut water—a delicious taste of paradise and the warmest Costa Rican hospitality.

In honor of the earth's precious wildlife succumbing to habitat loss, poaching and extinction, Ocean Forest created a Labyrinth for reflection. the endangered species labyrinth. A sacred path; an invitation to truly connect with nature and also to remember our place within it. As you step gently on this winding path feel your connection and the quiet power of your thoughts. This labyrinth is dedicated to the sea turtles that return each year during rainy season to nest their eggs along Ocean Forest's shores.

* Dinner on the first night (since arrival times vary—it wouldn’t be fair for late arrivals to miss out)
* Optional afternoon activities in San José before the official retreat begins
That’s it—simple and transparent, so you can focus on relaxing and enjoying every moment.
