He's the elephant-headed Hindu god. Symbolism runs deep, but basically, he's super-human and removes all obstacles to make sure things run smoothly.
Today’s modern world can sometimes stress us out. Information overload, decisions, go, go, go, sound familiar? And we know all this wreaks havoc on our health. You might ask yourself if yoga is suitable for you. If you want to improve your health, stay healthy, reduce stress, age gracefully, calm your mind and be at peace, YES, Yoga is for you.
Hi, I’m Sarah, owner and instructor at Amenia Yoga – a Place for Wellness. With over three decades immersed in fitness and yoga, I’m passionate about embracing a vibrant, healthy lifestyle while having a blast along the way. Aging? Not buying into that myth. It’s all about nurturing ourselves to stay strong. And it’s never too early or too late to start! While I enjoy teaching all-level classes and challenging participants to reach their true potential, my Wisdom Yoga, and Wise & Strong classes are truly special. These morning sessions cater to those who have experienced the effects of gravity for a bit longer than others. Wisdom Yoga respects and addresses the unique needs of changing bodies, while Wise & Strong is designed to help post-menopausal women regain muscular strength. As an advanced yoga teacher with over 10 certifications, including chair yoga, senior yoga, and yoga for osteoporosis, I also guide breathwork and meditation. When I’m not on the mat, you’ll find me planning new class ideas, sporadically updating social media (guilty—I should do it more!), or researching yoga and health topics—especially brain-based education. I share my studio space with Nola, my yoga dog—a beautiful soul. Beyond yoga, you might catch me exploring art galleries, whipping up exotic meals, or enjoying some quality time with Nola, tossing around a ball. Stop by, let's meet!
Join our Amenia Yoga community and connect with people from around the world who are just like you. Learn and share with this ever growing community. Everyone here will support you! A great aspect of Amenia Yoga is enjoying tea together after morning classes, and chatting with like-minded souls before heading out to other obbligations.
We have you covered no matter what you're looking for. Whether you want to gain strength and improve flexibility, build heat or want something more meditative, we have the class for you.
What our clients say about Amenia Yoga

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
2 months ago I have practiced yoga for 40 years with varying degrees of intensity.
I've had many different yoga teachers. Sarah's class is by far the best class I've ever attended. I've been going to Wisdom Yoga regularly for 5 months and I can really tell the difference as far as body effects; I'm stronger and my balance has improved. Sarah is knowledgeable about human anatomy and has the ability to gear her class to individual concerns such as osteoporosis, balance issues, and injuries. Highly recommended!!

Amenia Yoga is a wonderful addition to our community.
I am practicing Yoga with the owner, Sarah Wallace who is a great teacher. I have been noticing marked improvement in my balance and overall mood. It has even been helping alleviate pain in my neck/shoulders, lower back, legs and feet while helping to strengthen my core. I also notice that it inspires me to be present and make healthier choices, a trajectory worth exploring. I highly recommend Amenia Yoga; there are classes with talented instructors for anyone interested in some self care. I have been practicing for just a few months but look forward to continuing Yoga and making it a part of my daily routine because it feels good even though it isn't easy. We all start somewhere, so why not start at Amenia Yoga? :)

I joined Sarah‘s class on Monday evenings in Jan of this year to gain muscle strength and to help my fibromyalgia.
I can honestly say that I feel stronger. I am no longer in pain sitting at my desk all day long, I am no longer in pain getting out of my car. In fact, my legs don’t give out anymore when I stand up from getting out of my car. These may be simple tasks to most people , however, I had become complacent for the past 3 years. Yoga with Sarah has revived my entire body and mind. I have taken on a second class as well because I am learning yoga also relieves my stress from every day life issues. I feel empowered after Sarah’s class every time, it is an amazing feeling.

I’m participating in Foundations of Yoga.
I have been practicing yoga for many years, but I have never taken a class that focused so specifically on foundations. I’m learning so much! Our instructor, and owner, Sarah Wallace, does a superior job combining the practice, philosophy and science of yoga. I really enjoy the flow she is building as we learn foundations of poses. I’m used to a vinyasa that always includes high to low push up, upward facing dog, downward facing dog to link asanas. I have quite a sore shoulder, so moving through the warrior series with the flow Sarah is teaching is much better for me. She truly teaches yoga for every body 🙏🏻
